This Wednesday at 5pm we are meeting at Boing! (608 S. 500 E.) to write letters to prisoners. Hope to see you there.

Friday August 5th: Prisoner Hunger Strike Solidarity Rally

On August 5th at 3:30 pm there will be a rally in solidarity with the recent prisoner hunger strikes in California. We will meet at the Federal Building in Salt Lake City (125 s. State St). Please join us in amplifying the prisoners’ voices and bringing attention to an unjust prison system.

The prisoners’ demands include:
1. End Group Punishment & Administrative Abuse

2. Abolish the Debriefing Policy, and Modify Active/Inactive Gang Status Criteria

3. Comply with the US Commission on Safety and Abuse in America’s Prisons 2006 Recommendations Regarding an End to Long-Term Solitary Confinement

4. Provide Adequate and Nutritious Food

5. Expand and Provide Constructive Programming and Privileges for Indefinite SHU Status Inmates.

This will be the blog for Salt Lake’s Anarchist Black Cross. Upcoming actions include attending a Solidarity Rally with Tim DeChristopher on the 26th of July and we are planning to have a rally on August 5th in solidarity with the Prisoner Hunger Strikes in California . We are also planning on having Prisoner Letter Writing Night every third Wednesday of the month.
